I'm thankful for...

Some photos for your fine turkey weekend ...

My cousin's baby, Hannah, came to visit from Ottawa. Here she is, at 8 weeks old, with my mom. Technically, she's my first cousin once removed, but it's a lot easier to just say my baby cousin Hannah. Isn't she adorable?

And, Dee sent me a fantastic pattern for a nifty diagonal scarf. I'm enamored with it :D
You caught a brief look at it in my last post, when I held it up in front of the ROM, but here's what I have done so far:

and...

Now I'm off to pack and visit my family for some turkey! Yum!

IT'S FINISHED!!!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
[/choir of angels]

It's done! It's done! I finished the never-ending baby blanket (which apparently had an end after all)

Hooray! Yippee!

Now I'm wondering if I should do any quick and easy finishing touches. Any suggestions?

I finished it at the cottage, so I seized the opportunity to do some "in the wild" shots :)

(Yes, it will be washed before given to the baby)

I was so pleased with myself for doing the blanket, I started happily knitting away at my gauntlets. I adore this yarn! I forget what it's called, but my Friends Knitting Together could help you out with that!

I knit quite a bit more in the car on the way home, but here's what I had before leaving the cottage on Monday

Hmmm... doesn't quite fit. (The black cat in the photo is my mom's cat, Moe)

Hope everyone had a good long weekend!

Knitting babies

I warned you the next post would be about knitting!

My cousin A and his wife S are having a baby in August. As a result, I got the notion stuck in my head to knit them a baby blanket. I started several months ago (after a few false starts) and the blanket is really coming along now.

But then, the surprise baby shower was sprung on me - and that my cousins are having a girl! So during my weekend visit to London, I knit a baby bonnet - with D's help!

The beginnings of the bonnet:

And modeled on my lovely bunny (the closest thing I had to a baby since Hermes wouldn't sit still):

Finally, the side view. It's kinda elf-like, isn't it?

I may or may not put ears on it. I haven't decided yet. What do you think?
