Stitch n' Pitch

Finally I'm getting around to posting about the Stitch n' Pitch! But first...

SpillyJane and her husband came to visit, along with Heather from Friends Knit Together and her husband!

Here's Hamlet exploring SpillyJane's knitting...

Okay, onto the baseball! (Or, as they say in the sport, play ball! ... do they still say that? I was too busy knitting to notice)

I love the Jumbotron. It's the awesomest.

Heather knits, while Mike enjoys the most expensive cheap beer he'll ever drink :)

I Kinneared the Yarn Harlot (and I don't think she'll ever know... unless she reads this blog, for some strange reason)

More basebally goodness... I missed most of the good hits while knitting. I'd hear the crowd go wild, and I'd look up all confused saying "what did I miss? what did I miss?"

And finally, the reason Heather brought binoculars and why I'm proud of the zoom on my camera, I present Blue Jay #15...

... and the hole in his pants :D

I like baseball. If anyone ever wants to go to a game, I'll gladly come. As long as I can bring my knitting!

So much to say, so little energy

This post was going to be about yesterday's Stitch 'N Pitch, complete with pictures and commentary. The Jays won! Yay!

Instead of blogging, however, I went to Ikea and bought furniture. Furniture, yay!

As a result, I am too tired to blog extensively about baseball. The next post will be about it, but that may not be until after the weekend. Weekend off, yay!!

Adios!

Hair today, gone tomorrow

I need a hair cut.

I'm looking for pictures online of a style I could pull off.

I suck at this. Someone please help me out!

Make a Wish...

Wish (another Clamp creation) is a short 4 volume manga about a naive angel, Kohaku, who lands on Earth and is rescued by a human Shuichiro. She promises to grant him a wish in exchange for saving her, but Shuichiro says there is nothing he desires. Determined to fulfill her promise, Kohaku moves in with Shuichiro until he can think of the one wish he cannot fulfill himself.

The cast of this manga comprises of fallen angels and devils, as well as heavenly and hellish hosts. Of course, Clamp being Clamp, the whole thing is wrapped up in an adorable love story. The angels fall for the devils, the devils like to tease and bully the angels... and just to make the artwork as cutesy as the plot, whenever the sun is up the devils become chibi, and vice versa for the angels.

(see? chibi!)

Anyway, the story ends with an unexpected twist (remember, I love a good tragedy) but all works out in the end (of course)

Stardust

Neil Gaiman, on asking people to go see Stardust

(If you're in two minds about Stardust, about whether or not to see it or even when to see it, please go and see it this weekend. Friday night if you can. Take friends. If necessary, take them at gunpoint. They will love the movie so much they will forgive you afterwards. And if they don't forgive you, you can dispose of them quietly -- you're the one with the gun, after all -- and you will have a wonderful time for the rest of your life with the new friends you made at the Stardust screening.)

So... who wants to see Stardust with me? It's got goats!
